Founded in 1952, Ta Fong Pharmaceutical originated as Tafong Chemical Factory, established by Mr. Chiang-Lin Cheng in Taitung. In 1974, under the leadership of Mr. Huo-Cheng Yeh, the company was renamed Ta Fong Pharmaceutical and relocated its manufacturing base to Changhua, laying a strong foundation for future growth.
Changhua, historically known as a hub for pharmaceutical development in Taiwan, has nurtured many leading companies, within which Ta Fong has steadily grown and thrived for over seven decades.
Ta Fong’s development journey reflects the transformation of Taiwan’s pharmaceutical industry. The company has progressed through successive regulatory milestones—from GMP to cGMP and PIC/S GMP—continuously enhancing its manufacturing standards and quality management systems, while advancing toward becoming a globally competitive pharmaceutical company.
In its early stages, Ta Fong focused primarily on the OTC market. Following the implementation of Taiwan’s National Health Insurance system in 1995, the company strategically expanded into the generic pharmaceutical sector. As healthcare systems and public health awareness evolved, Ta Fong consistently adapted to regulatory and market changes, strengthening its position and earning long-standing trust within Taiwan’s medical community.
Today, Ta Fong Pharmaceutical offers a portfolio of nearly 200 products across diverse dosage forms, including oral and injectable formulations, enabling flexibility in responding to market demand and supply chain dynamics. The company also operates Taiwan’s only sterile production line dedicated to female hormone injectables, establishing a unique advantage in specialized therapeutic areas. With robust manufacturing processes, accumulated technical expertise, and stringent quality control, Ta Fong continues to enhance product safety and stability.
